HD-Vinyl 24/96 (Philips) Franz Schubert – Piano Sonatas 894, 664 (Ingrid Haebler)

front-small-boxset
Many thanks to our friend Jean-Luc for this beatiful vinyl
The legendary pianism of Ingrid Haebler has surpassed the test of time to become obligated reference and paramater of comparison at the moment to caliber the virtues of other artists of the keyboard. Haebler’s sound, noble and majestic, leaves you breathless. Her prodigious fingering, aristocratic musicianship and flawless articulation made her the most remrakable female pianist in Schubert.
These recordings are now part of a legend. Haebler (almost 89) lives in Vienna, and all of us owe her so much due these musical treasures will endure for the centuries to come.

HD-Vinyl 24/96 (EMI Columbia) Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart – Symphonies No. 25 + 40 (Klemperer)

front-small-boxset
Many thanks to our friend Jean-Luc for this
Klemperer reportedly called himself an amoralist, contrasting himself to Bruno Walter, whom he referred to as a moralist. In many Klemperer performances, I can hear why Klemperer thought of himself that way, but these are such warm, graceful performances. There’s nothing of the amoralist about them. Yet I wouldn’t say that they’re romantic or especially emotional performances. Nothing sounds clinical or dry here.

HD-Vinyl 24/192 (RCA Living Stereo) Bela Bartok – Concerto For Orchestra (CPO/Reiner)

front-small-boxset
Many thanks to our friend Jean-Luc for this gem
Since its original release on LP in the mid-1950s, Fritz Reiner’s rendition of the “Concerto for Orchestra” has stood as the standard against which all other recordings of the work are measured. Reiner’s superb control of his orchestra and of Bartók’s rhythms and textures is still unsurpassed, even by dozens of subsequent conductors in the digital age. This “Concerto” shows just what an incredible ensemble the Chicago Symphony was under Reiner’s direction.

Many thanks to our friend ectudor for this beauty
You have very seldom the possibility to hear Italian and Neapolitan “canzoni” that are sung this good by a non Italian singer. Romanian super-baritone Nicolae Herlea has the voice and the maestry to do it in easy manner, not at least helped by the fact that the languages Romanian and Italian are a little related.

Pay attention, important! Complaints about non-working links!

Hi friends,

I’m tired of all the complaints about non-working links, in the last times. Mostly are due to maintenance of the servers hosting that file you want to DL and there is nothing I can do. Most of you, I know, are working with a JDL or a similar program and when a DL fails, you only get the advice, that the DL fails, but not the reason.

The reason is easily to read if you go direct to the FF page. So, all the time I did this for you and I wrote thousands of times always the same shit. Please, I’m tired of this, can you understand it?

Do it by yourself…go to FF and check, why a file is not available. From now on, I will delete all requests to check a link, if the reason is “Server maintenance”. What is difficult on reading “try later again”? Why reporting?

I hope this is clear to everyone here. I will (of course, I will) check further all requests and replace all failing files, renove all dead links, but you should make sure, that the reason is a real fail (files deleted). All other requests will be ignored and the msg deleted.

IMPORTANT!  Don’t report dead links in the comment area of the post you are visiting…Please, use the “requests”-post  (http://boxset.ru/requests/), otherwise your report will be deleted.

Thank you.

HD-Vinyls Mono 24/96 (Electrecord) Giuseppe Verdi – La Traviata (Zanei, Buzea, Herlea, Bobescu)

front-small-boxsetMany many thanks to our friend Ectudor for this rare recording
Virginia Zeani, one of the best Violetta ever! Her lyricism and then her passion of “Sempre libera”, the intensity in the duet with powerhouse baritone Herlea (his legato!), the drama of the last two acts! Beautiful recording, excellent classical conducting in the best tradition, by Maestro Jean Bobescu, good tenor Ion Buzea, splendid Elisabeta Neculce (mezzo and great teacher) et al. Highly recommended!
