   Dear Rachmaninov,
   many thanks for this beautiful post, but I have some problems when unrar. 5 files (disc/track: 2/3, 8/3, 11/3, 11/11, 13/5) had in the filename letter „ü” (Umlaut), but in the rar-files appear “1 and the program says „Syntactic Error” and doesn’t unrar them. I have hungarian XP. I tried to select english and german for non-unicode languages, but the result wos the same. Could you help me, please, what settings would solve this problem?

     Hi again….I have three unpack systems: Stuffit and SimplyRAR for mac, WinRAR for Windows on the virtual machine. I tested all three systems, with no error. Anyway, as you can see on the screenshot i made during unpacking, in foder 5 there are no special letters (Umlaute) because this rips were made not by me, but someone that’s not german…because, if you see the first movement in “Disc 05″ he wrote “Sehr maBig” using “a” and “B” instead of “ä” and “ß” – Sehr mäßig.

     Try other unrar programs (on internet you find some program for free). I’m so sorry, i’m not a specialist in windows and i cannot do more for you. Only to post for you the single flac files, if the problem already persists.

       Hi,
       thank you for your reply. I try another programs for unpack, but I’m afraid, the problem is within the packed filename on my PC (there is only one character ‘ü’ in these filenames).

         ok…is this problem only on folder 5 (Symphony 3) ? If yes, i can post the single tracks for you, unpacked and ready to make you happy. Is the (your) e-mail address that i can see your really true address (not a fake?) ?

   thank you very much for this wonderful post, in my case, when i unrar the pack it give me the same errors like(Levente) but it does unrar those files only with one problem, it rename the (ü) to (1) and it is not a big deal, i use windows xp sp3 english.
