A pity, that I missed to rip this in HD…This rip is from a time, when I hadn’t a mind on HD – now the vinyls don’t exist anymore.
Here is it: the dream-quartett of that lucky house Decca…4 names, 4 megastars, 4 legends.

Joan Sutherland
Luciano Pavarotti
Sherrill Milnes
Nicolai Ghiaurov

This “Lucia” doesn‘t need to fear any other „Lucia“ in this world.

Dame Joan Sutherland, born with that dramatical tune in her voice, is perfect as usual.

Luciano Pavarotti was at the top of his superb voice developement.

Sherrill Milnes had taken the title of „best baritone in the world“ from the retired super-baritone Tito Gobbi.

Nicolai Ghiaurov had (and has almost) the most beautiful bass ever.

You cannot ask for more.

  1. Thank you so much for this mythical recording. Dame Joan Sutherland died today and we are all very sad about these news…. What a great artist she was, this Lucia is a great tribute. RIP La Stupenda….
