HD-Vinyl 24/96 (DGG) Herbert von Karajan – Dances by Brahms & Dvorak

Reposted – now with FF links
This is one of those recordings that should be in everyone’s music library. The Dvorak Slavonic Dances here are played with immaculate accuracy and beauty. It is a shame Karajan never recorded the complete works. The Hungarian Dances by Brahms are wonderfully performed. Karajan had a way of bringing out these minute melodic structures that simply “make” the music. The sound can be placed in the demonstration bracket and the performances themselves will not likely be out-matched anytime in the near future – truly classic performances deserving to be in every collector’s library.

  1. hey Rach, did you get my message on the Zarathustra post?

Anyway, thanks for this, look forward to listening to it. Tell me, I heard Edda Moser for the first time a few days ago on this wonderful album. Do you have it on vinyl? Any other Edda?

  2. Thanks! I use to have this record The only Von Karajan I ever bought– in glorious mono, too.
Thanks for the Solti Brahms 3rd too. The strings sound a bit bright on it, but still very appreciated. A beer coming your way for sure (*_^)

  3. The second file seems to be broken or not available. Could you please try to restore it? Thanks

    By the way, nice release
