Many many thanks to Gabi79 for this precious gift
What do you get if you sing Verismo like Belcanto? Right, you get such beautiful pearls like this one. Leoncavallo’s and Mascagni’s short operas belong among the most popular works of the verismo . A great example of love, disappointment, betrayal, and death. Mascagni s beautiful music was made popular among opera novices through the Hollywood masterpiece “The Godfather III” . Leoncavallo’s sad and touching aria of Canio “Recitar, mentre preso dal delirio…” is one of the most beautiful arias in operatics.

Conductor Herbert von Karajan draws gorgeous performances from his singers and musicians, and the Deutsche Grammophon recording is glorious. Critics have noted that, because these operas are “verismo” works intended to portray real people and situations, Karajan’s interpretations may indeed be TOO lovely, lacking a natural roughness, but these burnished performances have endeared me to both these operas with a warmth I felt was missing from most other recordings.

If You hear some clicks and pops here and there, Who cares?
Id rather have a few light anomalies instead of destroying the music.
Enjoy the music, not the ticks & pops.
I tend more and more, in the last time, to de-click with an automatic setting between 0.7 and 1.2 so you can say, my rips are like half rough rips.
