HD-Vinyl 24/96 (EMI) Sergei Rachmaninov – Isle of the Dead, Symphonic Dances (Previn)

front-small-boxset
Thank you Jean-Luc for this rarity
I fell in love with Rachmaninov’s music at the age of 7 or 8, back in 1965-66, when I heard for the 1st time his marvellous 2nd Piano Concerto. Until today he has remained one of my favorite composer – togheter with LvB, WAM and JSB – and nobody interprets his orchestral music better than André Previn. This is an album every lover of Rachmaninov will want. His tone poem “The Isle of the Dead” and his last work, “Symphonic Dances” shine in splendid, luxuriant sound courtesy of the London Symphony Orchestra, who give their all. Add this to your collection, if you love me, otherwise you will go to hell 😀
