I cannot remember if the Labeque Sisters made me forget of the Pekinel Twins…or it was viceversa? Saw them all four and still love them all four.

Katia and Marielle Labèque have been the leading two piano team form many years (it is difficult when seeing these lithe and beautiful and hearing the fireworks they bring forth form their pianos to realize they were born in 1950 and 1952!): they remain the finest as this splendid recording of works by Stravinsky demonstrates.
The Labèque sisters have a penchant for the driving rhythms and keyboard fireworks that the Concerto for Two Solo Pianos demands: the piece was one of Stravinsky’s favorites and a work that he played with his son Soulima on concert tours. The work abounds in surprises in rhythmic changes, percussive sections, eloquent melody lines that seem to appear out of nowhere. The Notturno section is dreamy music and the Variations section that follow defy description, so thoroughly well composed and timed between the two piano keyboards are they. The Labèques give it their all – which is considerable!

If You hear some clicks and pops here and there, Who cares?
Id rather have a few light anomalies instead of destroying the music.
Enjoy the music, not the ticks & pops.
I tend more and more, in the last time, to de-click with an automatic setting between 0.7 and 1.2 so you can say, my rips are like half rough rips.
