HD-Vinyl 24/96 (Unicorn) Frederik Chopin – Nocturnes Vol. 1 & 2 (Katin)

Thank you very much to our friend Trottar for these gems
Katin’s playing throughout is so skillful that one never is aware of any interpretive intrusions. Rather, tempos are patient if a little slow, and sonorities are broad and luminous. The Turkish Sonata in particular gives the feeling of having been lived in rather than interpreted. It’s hard not to hum along. I can’t say that I like Katin in this music better than other great Chopin interpreters like Arrau, Rubinstein, Vasary, but he certainly is in their league.
