  1. thanks
CBS 61845 Szell: Mussorgsky-Ravel: Pictures; Liadov: Enchanted Lake – Cleveland Orch 1963

Mussorgsky Bilder Einer Ausstellung / Liadow Der Zaubersee from the Cleveland Orchestra conducted by George Szell. CBS Records 61845, German pressing 1978

  2. Thank you for this LP, dear Alfredo!
I appreciate this recording of the Pictures and think that it is at least equal to that of Reiner or Karajan. Well, it is hard do be amazed with the Pictures now, since there is a deposit of them presented by you in the best quality. I was just interested with the Enchanted Lake by Lyadov, as well, and was not dissappoited at all. This is a great and thrilling piece, just fascinating.
Also, Szell is one of the best American conductors, maybe rivalled only by abovementioned Reiner. I think, Szell leaves behind both Bernstein and Ormandy. His Cleveland Orchestra did many of legendary recordings of the 20th century.
So, I’m very indebted for you for sharing this great recording with us!
