HD-Vinyls 24/96 (Philips) Volume 4 – EDIZIONE VIVALDI by Philips on 49 LPs

Box 04 with 4 LPs
This is a project I wanted to realize for my life and I started to buy the box-sets from all over the world. It took me around 3 years, because I wanted only Mint or NearMint box-sets. So 3 of them are Mint and never played, all the other are NM. The whole collection costed me almost 600 EUR…if you feel, you want to contribute to this Herakles-work, so you are welcome. Ripping Infos

If You hear some clicks and pops here and there, Who cares?
Id rather have a few light anomalies instead of destroying the music.
Enjoy the music, not the ticks & pops.
I tend more and more, in the last time, to de-click with an automatic setting between 0.7 and 1.2 so you can say, my rips are like half rough rips.

  • Software: iZotope RX 4 Advanced, Adobe Audition CS 5.5, Twisted Wave 1.9
  • Very light de-clicking with iZotope, significant clicks manually removing, no de-noising
  • DR-Analisys before converting to Flac
  • Converting Wave -> Flac: Twisted Wave 1.9
  • Artwork: Sony Alpha 350, Epson Perfection V750 Pro, Photoshop CS 5.5

If you like what i do, please consider that a little donation would be very appreciate.
I reinvest all donations in maintenance of my rig, for purchasing cleaning solutions and, most important of all, purchasing of new vinyls.

  1. Edizione Vivaldi is a great project. I’m eagerly waiting for the next volume. Thank you Don Alfredo, you are a great man sharing with everybody the happiness to listen at Don Antonio’s great cultural heritage in such a good sound! Unique!

  2. This is like high class Eggs Benedict for breakfast,
    Tea and scones for lunch;
and NY Filet Mignon for supper.
All rich, all pleasant and all exhilarating.
I got all of Vols. 3 & 4 today and listening to 4.2 just now.
I’m looking forward to the Beethoven Centennial in Hi Def.
What a trip its been from cylinders to 78s to 45s to 33s to CDs and now To Hi Def a la Rachmaninov-Faberge.
    Can you tell I’m delighted?

it’s every time a right pleasure to read what and how you can write 😉 When you are in a good mood, you are unbeatable !
      Cheers 😀

      • Thanks, Alf.
I find myself in a quandary because music is not just beautiful to the ear; it is capable of lifting the soul, soothing the nerves, or like Ravel’s Bolero, being so irritatingly repetitive as to wind you up like a top and send spinning off on a nervous tangent. Oh, it has its beauty: I’m not denigrating it, just saying you have to be in the right mood to appreciate it.

        I found this interesting anecdote:
“Someone sitting next to Berlioz in the theater, noticing him sobbing during one of Beethoven’s symphonies, said kindly: ‘you seem to be greatly affected, monsieur. Had you not better retire for awhile?’ “Are you under the impression,” snapped Berlioz in reply, “that I am here to enjoy myself?”

I enjoy myself, but I enjoy the music more: so the tastes of the culinary arts are easily comparable, and with an aperitif.

  3. I assume this project is on a hiatus? I am so much enjoying it and looking forward to the time you will continue. But honestly, there is so much beautiful music coming from you, I will now have a little bit more time to sit down and listen 🙂

    • I’m working on box 5 – normally I would have finished it, maybe also box 6 and Beethoven 200 years box 4 – but due to my work, I hope to post Vivaldi5 in the next week.
