Ripping Infos

If You hear some clicks and pops here and there, Who cares?
Id rather have a few light anomalies instead of destroying the music. Enjoy the music, not the ticks & pops.
I tend more and more, in the last time, to de-click with an automatic setting between 1.0 and 1.2 so you can say, my rips are like half rough rips.

  • Software: iZotope RX Advanced v2.02, Adobe Audition CS 5.5, Twisted Wave 1.9
  • Very light de-clicking with iZotope, significant clicks manually removing, no de-noising
  • DR-Analisys before converting to Flac
  • Converting Wave -> Flac: Twisted Wave 1.9
  • Artwork: Sony Alpha 350, Epson Perfection V750 Pro, Photoshop CS 5.5

  1. ha, ha, ha, Rach; I had never before listened to this Symphony, and how I was surprised how Shostakovich borrowed that brief phrase from Rossini’s William Tell Overture. – The Lone Ranger tune.
Fantastic! and the sound is Audiorrific! I love it!
    Have a good holiday!!

  2. This has to be the finest transfer I’ve heard yet of yours Rach; fine amongst many amazing ones that is! Many many thanks for all your work. Very grateful indeed. Sounds incredible this end!!

  3. Thanks Rach, downloading now.

Shostakovich it seems didn’t have a specific reason for the use of themes by Rossini and Wagner although I must say it helps to know which Wagnerian leitmotifs he uses. It is a deeply enigmatic symphony that could sound disjointed to the first time listener.

  4. Great sound! There are so many gems here … for me it is impossible to judge which one is the best. So … I just have to join the chorus saying many thanks to you for sharing this beautiful rip. Indeed it might be considered a reference for LP ripping “professionals”.
Wishing you a great vacation, I’m praying to God for blessing and protecting you, to come back home in a great mood and continue your great work … on Vivaldi project.
