Pure fun and well done

For those who did not grow up in the 80’s – Each track contains snippets of famous classical works, but with the tempo kicked up a notch or two, and a disco back beat. All but the most die hard classical fans will enjoy this. Guilty pleasure? Possibly, but it is actually very well done. The arrangements are tight and the musical selections that make up each track flow well together. Surprisingly, the increased tempo and dance beat do not compromise the integrity of the works. Hooked on Classics is fun to listen to and great for a work out. Additionally, it exposes listeners to some of the greatest composers of Baroque, classical, 19th and 20th century music. I first heard this in a music appreciation class in high school, and I was hooked. Not only did I buy the recording, I started listening to the original versions of the pieces contained in this set. I was thrilled to find the MP3 version, as my original tape wore out years ago. I recommend all of the Hooked on Classics recordings, but this one is the original and it is in my opinion, the best in the series.
