  1. Compared to Rach’s 24/96 posting of Op 18, Nos. 1 and 3, these are better. The 24/192 versions have a touch too much on the high end in a few places, but that may well be just the instruments. After all, in Russia, violins are called скрипки (pronounced skreepkee). Otherwise, the tone and clarity are nice, and the performances are made more rapturous.
