This is by far, the rarest and most expensive item I have ever shared here on boxset.
Test pressings are usually limited to 20-25 copies. They’re given to the artists/producers/etc to check things before doing a full press run – the very first copies produced. Occasionally, they will contain anomalies and end up being scrapped. More often than not, however, they are pristine with phenomenal sound. That is the case here.
The more common test pressings are pressed like a ‘normal’ album – music on both sides. This one, however, is pressed on two single-sided 180g discs.
As is the case with test pressings, they are produced with white labels and in white sleeves. The only way to identify them is by the matrix numbers that are printed on the labels and sleeve. I have included the original art for reference in a separate folder.

As most of you probably already know, I’ve just “discovered” the music of Mahler.
When I saw this album in a local shop, it was one of those “had to have it” moments. I knew if I passed it up, it wouldn’t be there next time, so I grabbed it. After hearing it, I’m glad I did. My only regret was what it cost.
If anyone can make a donation to help offset the cost of this album, it will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!
