One of the best recording of PG ever. Not all recordings have the singing and its done beautifully. Magical. Really emotional music. Sir Thomas Beecham’s influence on classical music during a span of several decades across the twentieth century was unparalleled. On this album he conducts the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra for the most glorious performances of Peer Gynt music ever recorded. The version of Grieg music here is simply magnificent. Beautiful, sublime, deepest performance. The Lyric Suite is a true jewell of music. The version of Solvejg’s Song by the soprano Ilse Hollweg is marvelous simply. Enjoy this fine music.

It’s been quite a while since I’ve posted anything from the Franklin Mint collection, so I figured I might as well continue the recent “Peer Gynt-o-rama” (thanks to AlKat for coining that phrase!) with this performance.
As always, if anyone has requests for other titles in this set, please add them to the comments or PM me directly. Please include the album numbers from the master list with your requests.
