Thousand thanks to our friend Mats for this gem “Concierto de Aranjuez” is one of the best songs ever written, a masterpiece written by Joaquin Rodrigo, the song is pure Spanish magic. The other song is “Fantasia para un gentilhombre”, another song penned by Rodrigo, it is just beautiful and evokes the essence of the elegant Spanish tradition. Once you’ve heard these songs you will be hooked and the song will play in your head long after it is not playing. Both of these songs have been performed by various artists but this is one of the best performances captured in Montreal in 1980-81. Carlos Bonnel is a maestro on guitar and Charles Dutoit is masterful conducting the Orchestre Symphonique De Montreal. This is one of those “classic” performances that sounds good no matter the time period it was recorded in.

Many thanks for this beauty to our friend Jean-Luc If you want to taste the guitar-playing delights offered up by the Romero family or if you want a fine historical record of this remarkable musical dynasty, then this is the record for you! Jointly and severally, the Romeros do their stuff here: Celedonio (the pater familias), and his sons Ángel, Celín, and Pepe. To back them up the San Antonio Symphony, in one of its very earliest major-label recordings, does its damnedest under the baton of Victor Alessandro–with truly fine results.
