HD-Vinyl 24/96 (Decca) Sergej Rachmaninov – Piano Concerto No. 2 (Ashkenazy/Kondrashin)

Thank you very much Jean-Luc
Beeing myself Rachmaninov 😉 I cannot comment properly….
OK, jokes apart, I want to give the ball to you all, because I’ve heard so many interpreters of Rachmaninov’s concerti, that I’m afraid, I wouldn’t be neutral. Let me say, this is a melanconic Rachmaninov played by a very young Ashkenazy and the sound is quiet good. Enjoy!

Audiophile HD-Vinyl 24/192 (Philips) Franz Liszt – Piano Concerti No. 1 + 2 (Richter/Kondrashin)

front-small-boxset
A true Mercury-Recording, brought on 180g Virgin Vinyl to you by Speakers Corner from 2010
Since they were first issued, Sviatoslov Richter’s Liszt Piano Concerti have been widely admired as the finest performances available, and for most listeners they still are. Now they have been remastered by none other than Wilma Cozart Fine, Mercury Living Presence’s goddess of the sound console, and they have come up sounding better than ever. Even if you hate Liszt, hate concertos, hate pianos, hate Russians, hate music in general, you should own and treasure (or punish yourself regularly) with this recording. –David Hurwitz
