HD-Vinyl 24/192 (EMI) Itzhak Perlman Plays Fritz Kreisler

This compilation of Kreisler pieces is absolutely wonderful, and while not “deep” music, it is great for relaxing later in the evening, helping one to unwind from the day. Perlman’s technique is excellent, warm and very sympathetic–rich with a lilting melancholy that’s inherent in much of the music. He makes it sound so easy, as effortless as if he could be humming the tunes. As for his accompanist, Sanders is a supportive but accomplished partner. I recommend this recording very highly. The playing is as full of insidious charm and romantic almost to the point of sentimentality, which in my view is not a bad thing at all.
