Complete new rip, with the new engines – many thanks to a friend from the Lake Michigan for this precious box-set At the Met, in the mid 60’s, she was the reigning Turandot. She sang opposite dramatic tenor Franco Corelli in productions which became legendary and were always sold out. This recording provides us with a glimpse of what it must have been like at that point in time. Corelli and Nilsson are the power behind this splendid album.
a little known operatic gem by Puccini Reposted, now in HD and with FF links
This is the best recording of Puccini’s first opera. The music is beautiful and powerful. There are so many great moments in this opera, and Scotto and Domingo show great artistry in this recording. Their duet at the begining is very moving and their exchange at the end of the opera is thrilling. Domingo’s aria at the end has never been sung better by anyone. Cura, and Alagna can’t touch him.
