HD-Vinyl 24/192 (RCA/Classic Records) Eduard Lalo – Symphonie Espagnole (Szeryng)

front-small-boxset
Many thanks to our friend Jean-Luc for this beauty
This 1964 version with Szeryng and Hendl is superior. The sound is brilliant and weighty, with a nice amount of reverb and “air” around the sound. Nonetheless the orchestral sound is detailed and very, very good for the era.

HD-Vinyl 24/96 (RCA Living Stereo) Jean Sibelius – Violin Concerto (Heifetz)

front_small_boxset
The Sibelius concerto is one of the most difficult to play violin concertos ever written.
I think Heifetz is the only violinist who ever fully understood this score.
