Many thanks to Trottar for the records
The Art of Fugue was J.S. Bach’s final composition which many justifiably regard as the apotheosis of his legacy. Kocsis is brilliant in his interpretations, the recordings are totally pure and clear. The technical command is flawless, and he has a complete idiomatic feeling for the music. The piano sound has lots of color and tonal variety, and there is nothing trivial in the playing of the pieces.

HD-Vinyl 24/96 (Hungaroton/Philips) Frederyk Chopin – The Waltzes (Kocsis)

Many thanks to Trottar for the record
Kocsis’ rendition of the Waltzes captures the essence of these vivid compositions beyond another any pianist, including renditions of Rubinstein or Argerich that I have heard. They are soulful, mesmerizing and played with a gushing tempo that is more appropriate than any of the other recordings I have heard. If you had to preview one piece, simply listen to Waltz #7. Kocsis performs better than I have ever heard him: by turns playful, soulful, pyrotechnic, eloquently simple, and always impeccably lucid and effective. Each segment seems like a delightful musical gift.
It would be difficult to ask for more!
