This is the Tchaokovsky 1st Piano Concerto with Maazel, Vienna P.O., & Ashkenazy. wow! The sound on this old recording is incredible.

Again: Spasiba meine Russischer freund. I wish I knew European and Slavic languages – but I’m too old now.

  2. you wrote: 458618-2 Ashkenazy, Perlman: Beethoven Violin Sonatas Nos. 2 “Spring” & 9 “Kreutzer” – spring is no. 5, not no. 2

  3. hello someone,
No harm done: scroll back up this page and notice all t6he numbers have a number 2 at the end. Since I cut amd pasted the title and number from slot five, in that you are correct, but you misprinted the number.

    I wish you well,
    Bob

  6. This is a good collection, but I’m stunned that Decca didn’t include the Debussy/Franck Sonatas for Violin and Piano performed by Kyung Wha Chung and Radu Lupu.

Seems like a glaring omission to me.

  7. Wow!!!! This is a Gem!!!!!!!! best version of Rachmanivov Piano concerto No. 2 466375-2 Rachmaninov Piano Concertos 2 & 3 – Ashkenazy, Kondrashin

    Thanks a Million!

  8. Thanks a lot,a really amazing collection,the decca’s sound is gorgeous§

  9. To everybody ; Decca sound from 1956 to 1980 is the best, always was the best and always will be the best. Interested in Aquaria’s comment on the “glaring omission” of the Kyung/Lupu disc. One of the most beautiful records ever made…and I can think of hundreds of other Decca “omissions” – fantastic, beautiful recordings which are tragically completely absent from the catalogue. Australian Eloquence is very good for reissued Decca gems.

  10. A miracle collection, glorious sound, and a lot of great performances!
    Many, many thanks!

  11. I couldn’t imagine before that there can be amazing collections like this, the content, perfomances the sound…all are great. And the quality of your upload is superb! Thank you very much!
