A most moving performace

I am amazed of the intensity and quality of the Prima Donna’s singing in this, her last stage performance and in presence of the Royal Family. Here, as in her last Norma performances in Paris there is a new kind of carefullness and in a new way a very great beauty in her singing – a wonderful experience!

  1. A new version of Callas Tosca is welcome always.
    Thank you so much.

  2. yes this is indeed a historic document for this is her last operatic appearance. But no one knows it better than the Diva herself that her voice was gone. No comparison to her mono recording of 1953.

  3. Thank you! It is an interesting document, but not a Tosca to listen…

  4. Por fortuna la Gran Maria Callas era Ella cuando vino a cantar a Mexico. Pero este CD la recuerda bien como lo que fue ¡LA MEJOR!

  5. I find it sad that she was ‘persuaded’ to continue to sing although her voice was gone and the high notes were affreuse. She should have stopped when her top notes failed her. She was used by her ‘moneymakers’ and by the hope to remain a big star. Pitifull.

  6. Just finished downloading.
Have to run to an appointment. will listen later this evening.
