The enjoyment of the soldiers after a day of carnage!

The Civil War was not fun and games, it was a time in which brother fought brother and the Nation was divided within itself. And there wasn’t a day that the military men didn’t go through a day of carnage and by that I mean that everyday there was some form of war or skirmish going on within the North and the South. However, they did have the custom as the Europeans of stopping all form of combat for the evening, and would start again the following day and thus, that would give the military men the opportunity to talk about things back home, write letters, relax, and even listen to music composed by soldiers themselves. This cd is one of those such works of art. One in which various pieces within the cd were composed by the military men and used not only by one side, but rather both sides used the music itself. Music had a way of being transported between the North and South and thus, the spreading of the music. Which in essence, helped future generations maintain a like for the music of the Civil War. This cd has some very cathchy tunes, military marches, love songs, songs of the South, and very lively tunes. Highly Recommended.
